TWILIGHT

Twilight (1988) 

Twilight was a live/interactive keyboard/computer improvisation performed in real-time. It was composed for my first trip to China in 1988, and based on a poem by Ch’ên Yün. This performance was recorded in 1989. Using software that is now obsolete, the work is no longer performable, and this remains the only recorded performance. 

In 1988, I was invited by the Chinese Ministry of Culture to present concerts and lectures at the Conservatories in Beijing and Shanghai, and spent a month in these cities.  These are a few photos documenting this trip:
